I opened the same Device Manager window I had open before, and here's what I saw. I then closed my laptop and re-opened it to my dismay, sound was not working. The location of the device is different compare the non-working location of "Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller" to "Internal High Definition Audio Bus" The Realtek device under Device Manager is listed as "Realtek HD Audio" and not "Realtek HD Audio Codec" I looked under Device Manager, and noticed a few differences between when the sound didn't work, and now (when it's working): So far, sound is working just as it should be!Įdit: I booted the computer up again and sound works. I'm just really disappointed and pissed, so I impulse posted this.Įdit 2: A solution was found! A Dell representative had me not only uninstall and reinstall the drivers (making sure to completely delete them from the computer, he also updated the BIOS from A03 to A04. They have been happening since the computer was new in July of 2021. They have been happening while I'm not at my computer, so I haven't seen the error codes on the BSOD. No solution is mentioned, and the answer was "verified" in May of this year. This originally happened when I put the machine to sleep the issue wasn't fixed after reinstalling drivers. This causes sound to not work in Windows.
